Head Hockey Coach

Teams Available to Coach:

• NH - West Side Arena (Manchester)
• Northern MA - Groton School Rink (Groton)
• Worcester, MA - Auburn & Worcester Rinks
• Western MA - TBD
• Southern MA - TBD
• Boston - Everett

Qualifications

• Previous experience in coaching hockey, particularly with girls players
• Flexible, availability and high level of responsibility
• High school diploma or equivalent
• First-Aid, CPR, AED, & Blood Borne Pathogen certifications- must receive within 90 days of starting

Responsibilities

• This position will oversee all on-ice aspects of the Girls Hockey program within their region
• The Head Coach will work with team captains to facilitate practice plans and teach drills
• Lead the recruitment of players to play for the team in their region and to promote the league to other players across New England
• Identify and hire a qualified assistant coach(es) as well as as scorekeepers, and a team manager
• They will manage game strategy, attend every game, and the coach will help manage team dynamics
• The coach will also work with the NISHL's executive team, who oversee all scheduling and fundraising efforts
• This position reports to the Commissioner of the NISHL

• To organize safe and appropriate practice sessions
• Attend all team practices and games
• Duty to act in an emergency by performing emergency evacuations; provide First-Aid, CPR, AED based on current certification
• Other duties as assigned

Preferred:

• Valid Driver’s License with a clean driving record

This is a part-time, temporary, position and you will be paid as an independent contractor.
